The entries in each section will be reviewed and a shortlist compiled for each section.

Prizes:
Each placed entry (as indicated above) will receive a competition certificate and a free copy of the anthology.

They will also receive any additional prizes as may be offered by the competition sponsors in the run up to the closing date. Details of any such prizes will be announced on the competition website.

The winning entries will be announced on the website and the poems and images will be published there, along with the names and locations of the winners.

Details of the winning entrants will also be circulated to the media and literary press for the purposes of reporting the result, further promotion of the competition and potential publication.

Prize winners will be asked to provide a suitable photo of themselves and, if possible, a short writers biography for reporting and promotional purposes.

Anthology:
The top poems, photos and artwork as selected by the judges for the "long list", will be published in the annual "Ice Hockey Poetry" Selected Poems & Pictures Anthology.

The writers, photographers and artists selected to go into the Anthology will have the option of buying copies for family and friends at a reduced rate.

Only the winners in the sections receive a free copy of the Anthology as we have to cover our costs so that we can keep this as a FREE TO ENTER competition. We need to sell copies of the Anthology in order to operate the competition.

The Anthology will also be available on general retail sale but at a higher price to the general public
