Andrew Stephenson MP Supports Pendle War Poetry Competition
Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson was at the ACE Centre in Nelson this week to view Lucy's fascinating exhibition about Female Poets Of The First World War and we were able to tell him about this year's Pendle War Poetry Exhibition.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to have a prize giving / poetry reading evening like last year as we weren't able to fix a suitable date but the competition is till going strong and we are putting together some great prize goody bags for the winners of the 4 categories.
Once the results are announced later in the autumn, we may be able to arrange an informal meet up and photo session for the local winners in the café at the ACE Centre - details will be confirmed nearer the time.
In the meantime -please keep sending in your entries. We have had lots so far and there is a nice range of subjects and locations involved.
Don't forget - the closing date is 30th September 2103.
And if you are looking for inspiration, why not go and have a look at Lucy's exhibition in the Pendle Gallery at the ACE Centre...? It runs until 3rd September and is open for viewing from 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday (excluding Bank Holidays).
You can find out more about her projects at: www.femalewarpoets.blogspot.co.uk
