We received such a large number of entries in under 18 category this year – they were of such a high quality - that it was decided to split the competition into two sections, one for UK & Ireland entries and one for the rest of the world.

We are pleased to announce the results are as follows:

UK & Ireland Under 18
First Prize:  “A Single Poppy” by Abi Rose Langton,  Nottingham
Second Prize: “I Went I Did I Saw” by Alice Couch, Reedley
Third Prize; “My Navy Whites” by Aleigh Allred, London
Special Merit: “Life Is Too Short” by Kiana Gollan, Kent

Overseas Under 18
First Prize: “Eyes Never Dry” by Zeki Madjid, Bulgaria
Second Prize: “Final Breath” by Ashleigh Loo, New Zealand
Third Prize: “Wind Blew At His Hair” by Sammy Keys, India

In each case, the winners receive a Competition Certificate and the prizes indicated elsewhere on the competition website.

Their poems are also included in the “Pendle War Poetry Competition – Selected Poems 2013” anthology and all the winners listed here will receive a free copy of the anthology.

Additional copies (ideal as Christmas presents for family and friends...!) can be purchased at a special price of £6 per copy with p&p free to UK addresses.

A list of all the poems that are included in the anthology can be found here, along with a limited edition purchase link to take advantage of the special book offer:  http://www.pendlewarpoetry.com/p/poemsthat-appear-in-pendle-war-poetry.html
